Why not visit a mine or explore a mining museum?
There are opportunities all over the country to visit mines and mining museums and learn more about our mining industry. The following map provides information on mining tours and museums in the United States and Canada.

This map does not provide links to mining tours for states that are not designated. If you would like to send us information on a mining tour in your state, please email gbilodeau@nma.org. We welcome your feedback.
DANGER! It is fun and educational to tour mines, but do not attempt to enter any current or historic mine property without permission. Old mines and quarries are extremely dangerous if they are not restored for tourist use.
